Why Farmers Are Adding Teaching to Their Income Streams:
Diversified Revenue Crops fail.
Markets fluctuate. But your knowledge? That's a renewable resource. Earn per student for a few hours of teaching—without planting a single seed or feeding another animal.
Use What You Already Have.
Your land. Your skills. Your daily routine. You're already doing the work—now get paid to show others how. No new infrastructure needed. No additional inventory. Just you and your expertise.
Build Your Community.
These aren't tourists—they're future homesteaders, aspiring farmers, and people who genuinely respect what you do. Build relationships, strengthen local food systems, and inspire the next generation.

-
Do your customers need to bring supplies, will they have the option to buy them from you or are they included in your class fee? (You will want to indicate this in your listing.)
-
Do you want to create products to go along with your class or tour? (You can upload these with your class/tour listings.)
-
Do you want to expand beyond your local area and host classes or group discussions online? (Reach out to me!)
-
When creating your listings, consider value-based pricing that accounts for the experience quality, instructor expertise, materials included, and market competition - but do not undersell yourself. Your in person time and knowledge are valuable.
-
Customers may be looking for key words and considerations - such as organic or sustainable. Be sure to note these for filtering.

How It Works
From Farm and Homestead to Classroom in 4 Simple Steps
Step 1: Create Your Profile Tell your story.
Share what makes your farm or homestead unique. Upload photos. List the skills you want to teach or about a tour you want to host. Takes about 20 minutes.

Step 2: Set Your Schedule & Pricing
Choose when you want to teach. Set your own prices. Decide how many students you're comfortable with. You're in complete control.

Step 3: We Send You Students
We handle all the marketing, booking, and payment processing. You get notifications when someone books.

Step 4: Teach & Get Paid
Be ready, share your knowledge, answer questions, and do what you love. We deposit your earnings directly to your bank account weekly.

When Do I Receive Payment?
Still Undecided?
Common Concerns Addressed:
"I'm too busy running my farm"
You're already doing the work. Teaching just means bringing people along while you do it. Most classes are 2-4 hours, once or twice a month. You choose the schedule that works for you. Also, adults are experiential learners - why not let them help you to help cement the knowledge you are sharing as part of the class?

"I'm not a teacher"
Your students don't want a polished power point presentation—they want real, practical knowledge from someone who lives it. If you can clearly explain what you're doing while you're doing it, you can teach.

"My farm isn't fancy enough"
That's exactly what students want—a real working farm, not a staged experience! Mud, mess, and authenticity are features, not bugs.

"What about liability?"
Many farmers already have farm liability insurance that covers educational activities. Your insurance agent can help you confirm you are covered.

"I don't know how to market or handle bookings"
That's our job. We drive students to your classes, handle all payments, send reminders, and manage cancellations. You just show up and teach.

"What if no one books?" <- Read me ;)
Here is the straight-forward answer from my heart - this platform is new and was started exactly because I was having a hard time locating a wide variety of deep knowledge where I could go get experience before throwing myself into starting a full farm and homestead myself.

I see the way the world is going and I know I am not alone in wanting to be more self-sufficient. I believe there is a surge now that will only be increasing in coming years of people wanting, and frankly needing, this knowledge. We need community and our neighbors more than ever.

I know many farmers are having a hard time financially. I know many homesteaders are losing their regular jobs.
I know learning from video after video often leads only to unanswered questions and conflicting information.
I am confident pairing the experienced farmer and homesteader with the new learner is the answer.
People book all the time for everything from appointments to travel - why not something that brings our community together without the burden of the administrative stuff? A one-stop shop to address all their questions and give broad opportunity for those wanting to share their knowledge while making extra money?

Did you know there are tens of thousands of farmers and homesteaders in Missouri alone? This site, still fledgling, is locally focused - I am from Missouri too! Future goals will be to expand. But for now, Missouri has 100% of my attention. And while you are all my neighbors, getting the word out organically is slow, difficult and expensive. It will take time to get enough of you interested to become what is seen as a legitimate source of expertise to potential customers. (Help me help you by telling everyone!) With that in mind, my family is fronting all of the cost and not asking for any signup or maintenance fees until we have built enough interest that the teachers are booking relatively soon after sign up. It needs to be worth it as a service to you. Later, if we do start charging signup or maintenance fees, my promise for our early teachers is that you will be exempt. You took a chance and had faith. It is my thank you to you.

So, the short answer was: you will certainly not get bookings immediately at this stage. But, it costs nothing to you to get listed, and gives you time to build a stunning profile page and consider all the classes you may want to teach (and tell all your friends!) Bare with me for this early stage and I feel certain there is real opportunity for you to build real side (or full-time) income here.
